WILD THING 5K & 10K TRAIL RACE AND WALK

Mass Audubon's Wild Thing 5K and 10K Trail Race and Walk is a wooded trail run starting and ending at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, 471 West Mountain Road. The race goes through a variety of elevation in both distances. Wild Thing benefits Mass Audubon's conservation and environmental education programming in Berkshire County. More information here.

Kids and caregivers are invited to stay at the library after Storytime for Stay & Play! We’ll keep the party going with toys, games, puzzles, and snacks for the kids, along with coffee, tea, snacks, and time for connection for the caregivers! Families are not required to attend Storytime to join in on Stay & Play - stop by when you can!

*Second Saturday of the month, the craft project is replaced by creative movement with Laurel Lenski and no formal Stay & Play will be held but families are always welcome (and encouraged!) to hang out in the library.

Dive into this madcap homage to Jules Verne’s’ famous maritime hero! Captain Nemo himself will entertain, inspire, and challenge your little guppies’ brains while quenching their thirst for knowledge of the Wonders of the Deep. The cantankerous and ever-curious Captain Nemo lives to excite kids about our watery-blue planet with tales of the Giant Squid, the elusive Angler fish and even how whale poop is part of the Cycle of Life!  

This engaging theatrical experience features beautiful sound effects, hilarious slapstick hijinks, magic, bubble-play and full-audience participation.  Created and performed by David Engel who tours his shows to arts centers, festivals, schools and museums nationwide and internationally.

Having chalked up over fifty years at the peak of the music and entertainment industry, Justin Hayward’s voice and guitar playing has been heard the world over. Known principally as the vocalist, lead guitarist and composer for The Moody Blues, his is an enduring talent that has helped to define the times in which he has worked.  

As the driving force behind The Moody Blues, Justin penned classics like “Nights in White Satin,” “Question,” “New Horizons,” “I Know You’re Out There Somewhere,” “Tuesday Afternoon,” “Story in Your Eyes,” “The Voice” and “Your Wildest Dreams.” Over the last five and a half decades, the band has sold upwards of fifty-five million albums and, along with Justin as a solo artist and writer, received numerous awards. The band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, whilst Justin was personally honored in 2022 with an OBE.

The Summertime Fairy Tea Party, produced by WitchSlapped, Drag Story Hour Berkshires, and The DollHaus, is set to dazzle and delight. Ticket includes: light bites and drinks that sparkle. All levels, ages 10 to 18
Monday to Saturday, 9am-3pm
 
This week-long program gives students the opportunity to jump right into the world of musical theater with classes in tap, broadway jazz, voice, acting, and improvisation. Students will learn healthy warm-up practices for the voice and body, and work on character development, expression, ensemble, and more. The program directors will work with students to produce an informal performance for the final day of the program.  The program’s final day (Saturday, August 12) will include morning classes, rehearsal, and an afternoon showing.
