On Friday, June 14th at 7:00 PM, we’ll have our third program in the Berkshire Nature Talk Series. Dr. Thea Kristensen, along with one of her undergraduate students from Amherst College, will talk about the MassMammals project, including its subsidiary MassBears, which seeks to explore black bear distribution and behavior in Massachusetts. MassMammals provides educational information about local wildlife, working with community participants to collect various forms of sightings data, and collaborating with local schools and organizations. Dr. Kristensen and her student will share the origins and status of the research project along with current research directions, and how residents can get involved.
