Pulver Powers Central Radio to Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Chad Pulver scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Thursday to lead Central Radio to a 71-50 win over Berkshires Finest in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League Open Division.
 
Travis Servers scored 23 points in the win.
 
For Berkshires Finest, Brandon Davis scored 15 points, and Joe Wiggins had 10.
 
In Thursday's nightcap, Tank Roberson scored 23 points to lead Moresi & Associates to a 70-30 win over BFAIR/North Adams Law.
 
Ty Rochester scored 15, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked three shots, and Mike Meaney scored 12 for Moresi.
 
Nate Gutman scored 12 for BFAIR, which got nine points each from Zach Giron and Brian Dowling.
     

Burgess Leads Mount Anthony Boys in OT

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Mount Anthony Union High School's Damon Burgess scored 21 points to lead the Bennington, Vt., school to a 63-60 double overtime win over Manchester, Vt.,'s Burr & Burton Academy on Wednesday night the John Giorgi Summer Basketball league.
 
Ty Champagne scored 14 points with five rebounds and four blocks for the Patriots.
 
Burr & Burton's Tyeshawn Gadson scored 26 points in the loss.
 
In Wednesday's other High School Division game, Emmett Shepard scored 14 points to lead Mount Greylock past Hoosac Valley, 52-32.
 
Michael McCormack scored nine and grabbed eight rebounds for the Mounties.
 
Avery Hall scored eight for Hoosac Valley.
     

Tremblay, McLaughlin Lead Tony's to Giorgi League Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Lucy Tremblay scored 15 points, and Courtney McLaughlin had 10 to lead Tony's Electrict/Flynn & Dagnoli to a 39-35 win over Teddy's Pizza on Tuesday evening in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.
 
Hollie Steinman scored 12 with 14 rebounds for Teddy's.
 
Alson on Tuesday, Williamstown Physical Therapy defeated Mount Anthony, 59-36, behind 23 points from Alia Curry.
Emily Rosse and Danielle Racette each scored 10 for WPT.
 
Brianna Legacy scored 13, and Morgan Hewitt had nine for the Patriots.
 
On Monday night, MCLA/Deep Insurance, Bloom Property and Key West each picked up wins in the Open Division.
 
For MCLA, Khalil Paul scored 23 points in a 67-44 win over Mingo's/Greylock Bowl & golf.
 
Koreen Kirksey scored 15, and Paul Maurice had 14 points and 14 rebounds for MCLA.
 
Kollin Allard and Kevin Shaker each scored 12 for Mingo's.
 
Bloom defeated BFAIR/North Adams Law, 60-23. Tyler Benoit led the way with 14, and Nick Bourdon scored 10 for Bloom.
 
Key West's David Vidal scored 19 points in a 65-56 win over Berkshires Finest. Adam O'Neill backed up Vidal with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Berkshires Finest's Eric Schibi scored 17 points, and Joe Wiggins had nine.
     

Pittsfield-based AAU Team Finishes Successful Season

The Pittsfield "Squad" varsity AAU team completed a successful season this season that saw the squad go 29-6 overall and win three tournaments.

The team reached the finals of six tourneys, beating teams from Syracuse, Albany and Westchester County, N.Y., along the way.

Highlights included an overtime win over a Syracuse squad in the finals of the varsity division at the Springfield, Mass., "Father's Day Classic." The Squad also won the varsity division of the Adidas Powered 3.0 "War on the Floor" tournament in New York. 

The team was coached by Michael Balcom with help from Ahna Balcom. 

Players included Tyler Rhoden, Derrick Rowland Jr. and Mike Reith of Albany, N.Y.; Drury's Kareen Beckett and Nick Trombley; Taconic's Shaquille Ardrey, Charles Davis, Hunter Smead and Mike Taylor; Pittsfield High's Feeko Adopo; St. Joe's Reilly Balcom; and Lenox's Trevor Hathaway and Bailey Patella. 

     

Key West Picks Up One-Point Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. --David Vidal scored 25 points to lead Key West to a 65-64 win over Moresi and Associates in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League on Sunday night.
 
Justin Daigle had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds; he also blocked two shots for Key West, which got 11 points from Paul Oparowski.
 
Ty Rochester scored 18 points to lead three players in double figures for Moresi. Ray Viches scored 12, and Anthony Sims had 11.
 
The league's leading 3-point shooter, Brendon Kordana, scored 28 on Sunday to lead Moonlight Diner to a 59-45 win over Pete's Gun Shop/Maselli & Field.
 
Russ Beauchamp scored 12, and Mike Decker addd 11 for Pete's.
 
Keiland Cross scored 18 points, and Lawrence Carrier had a double-double for Flynn & Dagnoli in a 90-16 win over BFAIR/North Adams Law.
 
Carrier scored 17 points with 12 rebounds and a couple of blocks. Carrier is tied for the league lead in rebounds (72) and blocks (6) this summer.
 
Nigel Cross scored 16, and Mike McMahon had 14 for Flynn & Dagnoli. Brandon Eason scored 13 and grabbed eight boards in the win.
 
For BFAIR, Brian Dowling scored seven.
 
Three games are scheduled in the Open Division of the league for tonight at the Noel Field court.
 
The league's regular season runs though Aug. 7.
