PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Authorities released the name of the victim in Sunday morning's homicide on Edward Avenue.

According to the District Attorney's Office, 18-year-old Jaden Salois, of Dalton, was pronounced dead on the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.

Police had responded to Edward Avenue at 2:13 a.m. Sunday morning for a reported shooting and found the teenager. Salois died from a gunshot to the torso, according to preliminary autopsy results.

The investigation is still ongoing and Police are asking anyone with information about it to contact the detective bureau at 413-448-9705.

The shooting was one of two violent crimes to hit the city this weekend. A woman was arrested Monday for a stabbing on Madison Avenue.
