A 2005 Honda CRV driven by 68-year-old Agnes Yorke collided with another vehicle on Union Street today.
North Adams - Two city residents were taken to North Adams Regional Hospital today following a mid-afternoon two-car crash on Union Street. The collision caused a portion of the street to be closed for about 45 minutes.

Police said that 68-year-old Agnes Yorke of 29 Canedy Lane was traveling east along Union Street [Route 2] when she attempted to turn left onto Johnson Street. Police said Yorke drove a gray 2005 Honda CRV into the path of a 2002 green Jeep Liberty driven by Andrew S. Laplante, 24, of 38 Green Ave..

2002 Jeep Liberty driven by Andrew S. Laplante, 24, of North Adams, was damaged during an afternoon Union Street crash.
Police said both Yorke and Laplante were injured in the crash.

Charges may be pending following a complete investigation into the accident, police said.

Both vehicles received significant front-end damage and both were towed from the crash scene.

The 2:45 p.m. crash caused westbound Route 2 traffic to be detoured over East Main Street and eastbound traffic was detoured along Gallup Street.
In addition to police, members of the city fire department were called to the scene. Yorke and Laplante were taken to the hospital by the North Adams Ambulance Service.
