Public Voting For Fire Posters

12:00AM / Thursday, March 22, 2007

On March 29, the North Adams Fire Department, in cooperation with the Florida and Adams Fire Departments, will be holding a public judging for this year’s Arson Watch Reward Program Poster Contest.

This year’s theme is “ Try to be safe from the top 3 causes of fire: Electrical, Cooking & Smoking Hazards. ”

On behalf of all property and casualty insurance companies of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Property Insurance Underwriting Association ( FAIR Plan ) has sponsored the Annual Statewide Arson Watch Reward Poster Contest for the past 25 years. Contact Nancy Rodes at 617-723-3800 or 800-392-6108 for more information.

Posters, submitted by area middle school students, will be on display on the second floor of the firehouse at 40 American Legion Drive, North Adams. Judges from the North Adams Office of Tourism, MCLA's Gallery 51 and the Adams Co-Operative Bank will be on hand to announce the 1st and 2nd Place winners of the contest. You are invited to visit the North Adams Fire Department, beginning at 2:45 pm, to view this year’s posters.

Additional information about the contest or the judging may acquired by calling NAFD firefighter David Simon at 413-662-3103.
