Art Buzz At The Clark

04:29PM / Wednesday, May 09, 2007

Williamstown - Be part of the crowd that creates a buzz at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute on Thursday, May 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. during Art Buzz.

This free evening, organized with the Berkshire Young Professionals and open to the public, features networking, puzzle pieces, riddles, and mingling with curators, and may change the way you look at art.

Light snacks and a cash bar will be available.

Upon entering the Clark, guests who choose to participate in the fun and games will receive a puzzling piece of an image of a work of art from the Clark's permanent collection. Network with the crowd and find connecting puzzle pieces.

Once you, and your new team of "puzzled" friends, have a complete picture, a riddle about it will appear on the reverse side. Answer the riddle, with or without a curator's help, and be rewarded with a gallery talk on the puzzle's image. A drawing for prizes will also be held.

Berkshire Young Professionals was designed by the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce to address the challenge of forming connections which young professionals value, and to serve as the foundation on which young professionals build their careers, friendships, and community.

BYP events range from Leadership Roundtable Breakfasts, a series of discussions with local business and civic leaders about their tips and strategies for career and leadership development; to networking socials at local restaurants; to cultural events, designed to make arts and cultural organizations throughout the Berkshires more affordable and accessible to young professionals.

The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, MA. The galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm (daily in July and August).

Admission is free November through May. Admission June 1 through October 31 is $12.50 for adults, free for children 18 and under, members, and students with valid ID.
