LENOX LIBRARY BOOK SALE

The Lenox Library's 22nd annual book sale will be held this year Aug. 25-27 at the Lenox Library, 18 Main St. This year's "Bargains in Books" event will feature thousands of books in 40 categories, all donated from Berkshire homes. For a donation of $5, book dealers and members of the public can gain early admission from 9 a.m.-noon on Friday, August 25. “First look” admission numbers will be available beginning at 8 am. The sale continues with free admission from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors to the event are asked to bring their own bags and boxes.

Jacob’s Pillow Dance celebrates National Dog Day with an invitation for dogs and their caregivers to participate in a dance choreographed just for them. This dance highlights the special relationship we share with our pets and will also feature local pet vendors and the opportunity to win prizes. Participants and their leashed canines will be guided through a series of making patterns, practicing gestures, and showing off tricks. After 45 minutes of rehearsal, there will be a short 15 minute “performance” to demonstrate what the dogs and their companions have learned. RSVP encouraged online. Donations to the Berkshire Humane Society are suggested; a donation wish list can be found on the website.
RAINBOW SENIORS WOMEN'S MEETING

A monthly women's discussion group, led by LGBTQ senior women for LGBTQ senior women, is held on the fourth Saturday of every month in the Garden Room of the Unitarian Universalist Church at 175 Wendell Ave. Information online.

The Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum welcomes Judith Black portraying suffragist Lucy Stone at the Adams Commons. This event is being presented by the museum and the Adams Suffrage Centennial Celebration Committee. The event will include an introduction by the museum’s Executive Director Colleen Janz and Bill Kolis, member of the Adams Suffrage Centennial Committee, who will be introducing the plans for a potential statue to be built in town honoring Susan.

Berkshire Bash announces live summer music festival Hot Summer Swing on the grounds of Ski Butternut. The day long events include a line-up of live music featuring national and local performers Squirrel Nut Zippers, Lucky 5, Blue Light Trio and more. Tickets are $40 in advance, $50 at the door, Limited Quantity $100 VIP Package includes Exclusive Seating and Post Party with artists. Kids 12 and under are free. Berkshire Scenic Railway's newly restored Hoosac Valley Line, which runs between Adams & North Adams, announces the return of “Saturday Night Cabaret Trains” on select Saturday nights this summer. The Berkshires’ beloved musical duo of Samantha Talora & Ron Ramsay are back for this sophomore season of Cabaret Trains to entertain on the rails during the one-hour leisurely excursion on Saturdays July 15 and 29, Aug. 12 and 26 and Sept. 9 and 23. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online.
