44TH ADAMS AGRICULTURAL FAIR
Adams, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The final day of the 44th Adams Agricultural Fair starts at 10 AM with judging of Adult cattle and judging of Youth sheep and goats. At 11:00 the popular OX pull begins with seating under the trees on the bleachers or bring a chair space. The event will go on most of the day with prizes given out to the winners. At 11:30 the Adams Police Department is pleased to showcase the skills and intelligence of Kumar the K9 dog. Kumar's skills will amaze you. Terryall Berry returns at noon -2 with his fun filled music and entertainment for all ages. Bring the little ones for a great time. Wendy Warner at 1 will demonstrate the skills of her trained sheep dogs and their herding instincts with direction from their handler. DEMOLITION DERBY time is 2:00 with seating in the bleachers for this crash em up event!! The event starts proudly with the National Anthem followed by the roar of start your cars and the crowd cheering for the local drivers! Great driving skills, crashed up cars, the roar of the crowd and a fun afternoon Small animal barn for poultry, demonstrations, food, climbing wall, saw mill demo, a large exhibit hall to enjoy and tasty food is all yours to enjoy. admission $8 adults. $6 5-16 and free 5 and under. Lanesborough, 4 p.m.
St. Luke's Church in Lanesborough is sponsoring a concert series this summer at the Old Stone Church. The series is dedicated to Jean 'Gae" Elfenbein, a prominent personality in the Berkshires. There is no admission charge. Attendees can bring a non-perishable food item for the Veterans Pantry, and a free will offering can be made. The schedule is as follows: Aug. 5, Paul Green/Klezmer Ensemble; Aug. 19, Wintergreen (traditional folk trio) and Sept. 9, Vesper Orchestra (with Ben Kohn & Marisa Massery).
FAMILY FLICKS UNDER THE STARS
Images Cinema will present Family Flicks Under the Stars, its annual summer outdoor movie series, this July and August on three consecutive Sunday nights starting at sundown (around 8:15 p.m.). All movies will be shown on Morgan Lawn, at the corner of Spring Street and Route 2. Concessions will be available onsite. Movies are free to attend. The audience is invited to bring chairs and blankets, picnics, and bug spray. The schedule is as follows: July 22, “Wall-E”; July 29, “Hairspray” from 1988; and Aug. 5, “Black Panther.” Aug. 12 is a rain date.
