Margaret M. Farley, 100

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Margaret Marie Farley, 100, of North Adams and more lately of Northampton, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Loomis House Nursing Care Facility in Holyoke.

Born in North Adams on July 12, 1914, a daughter of Joseph and Clarencia Fredette Roach, she attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School in 1933. She then attended Mount Ida College in Newton.

Mrs. Farley was a social editor for the former North Adams Transcript and later worked in the Athletic Department at Williams College.

While a resident of Northampton, she was a communicant of St. Mary's Church there.

Her husband, Terrance Charles Farley Sr., whom she married on April 20, 1936, in the former St. Francis' Church, died on April 27, 1997.

She leaves two sons, Terrance C. "Chip" Farley Jr. of New Mexico and Robert C.J. Farley of Texas; five great-grandchildren, Melissa Fauss, Kristen Dwyer, Jane Doran, Katherine Levens and Anne Farley; eight great-grandchildren, and cousins.

FUNERAL NOTICE - Funeral services for Mrs. Farley will be held Monday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown.

A calling hour will be held Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals Central Chapels 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Donations may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
