Celeste F. Niece, 97

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Celeste Frances "Fanny" Niece, 97, of 58 Orchard Lane died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at Sweetbrook Care Centers.

Born in North Adams on Oct. 13, 1917, daughter of Samuel and Frances Mazzato Famia, she attended Drury High School. She moved to Williamstown in 1952,

Mrs. Niece was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 31 years, until her retirement in 1979. She was first employed by the former Gale Shoe Co.

She liked cats.

Her husband, Stanley Joseph Niece, whom she married on July 8, 1939, died on Oct. 5, 2004.

She leaves nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews: Lawrence Williams, Nancy English, Angelina Bradley, Frank Lampiasi, Ronald Catelotti, Richard Catelotti, Terri English-Murach, Lance English, Darrell English, Michael Bradley, Michael Williams, Stephen Williams and Terri Ferrelli.

She was predeceased by her four sisters, Olympia Catelotti, Mary Quinn, Arvilla Williams and Rose Lampiasi.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service for Mrs. Niece will be held Friday, Dec. 12, at 1:30 p.m. at Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown.

There will be calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
