Norman L. Lamoureux, 94
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Norman L. Lamoureux, 94, of 267 Mohawk Forest Blvd., died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Williamstown Commons, where he was a patient for the last month. Born in North Adams on April 28, 1920, a son of Alcide and Leona "Laura" Pelletier Lamoureux, he attended the Commercial Business School at the former Notre Dame School.
Mr. Lamoureux was employed for 23 years at the former Windsor Print Works and later at the former General Cable Co., retiring in 1982 with 27 years of service.
He was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of its Holy Name Society. He also was a member of the Northern Berkshire Retired Men's Club and enjoyed bowling.
His wife, the former Anna Mae Gorman, whom he married Sept. 29, 1940, in St. Francis' Church, died May 11, 1999.
He leaves a sister, Jeanne Dana; a brother, Leonard Lamoureux of Nevada, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters Doris Donovan, June Chenail and Aline Giroux and by his brother Donald, in childhood.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Lamoureux will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 31, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 9 to 10:15 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for Berkshire VNA & Hospice through the funeral home.
The family will be forever grateful to Julie Chilson whose love, compassion, and care allowed Mr. Lamoureux to live independently for the past six years.
