Eunice M. St. Hilaire, 88
ADAMS, Mass. — Eunice Marguerite St. Hilaire, 88, of 5 West St., died Wednesday evening, Feb. 18, 2015, at Berkshire Medical Center's Emergency Satellite Facility in North Adams after a fire in her home.Born on Adams on Feb. 7, 1927, a daughter of Henry and Ora Norman LeGrand, she attended the former Notre Dame Elementary School and graduated from the former Adams High School with the class of 1945.
Mrs. St. Hilaire was a homemaker most all of her life, caring for her family.
She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire and of the former Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, where she was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne. She was also a member of Adams Post 160 American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards, playing the piano, and spending time in prayer. She especially enjoyed time spent with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She and her husband, Clement G. St. Hilaire, were married on Jan. 12, 1946.
Besides her husband of 69 years, she leaves a daughter, Jeanne Marie Cooper and her husband, David, of Pittsfield; a sister, Jeanne Jangrow of North Adams; three grandchildren, Wendy Sikorski of New York City, Amy Baker of Middlefield and Seth Cooper of Abington; eight great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Claudia St. Hilaire on Dec. 31, 1953, and two brothers, Lawrence LeGrand and Clarence LeGrand.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. St. Hilaire will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 8:45 a.m. from Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, celebrated by the Rev. David R. Raymond, pastor.
Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
