Rita E. Renton, 100
CHESHIRE, Mass. - Rita Emma Renton, 100, of Sandmill Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015.Born in North Adams on June 10, 1914, daughter of Henry and Vitaline Giguere Gageant, she attended local schools and also attended Berkshire Community College.
Mrs. Renton had been employed at the former North Adams Regional Hospital as an operating room technician.
She had been communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. She especially enjoyed playing bridge, and was an accomplished artist.
Her husband, James Renton, who she married Oct. 18, 1941, died on May 9, 1999.
She leaves three daughters, Pamela Cadran of Cheshire, Ellen Quigley of Freedom, N.H., and Denise Davignon of Seattle; and two sons, James A. Renton and Robert Renton, both of Cheshire; a brother, Louis Gageant of Parksville, Md.; seven grandchildren, Renee, Bryan, Jane, Kristen, Harrison, Cari-Ann, and Shawn; a great-granddaughter, Holly, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by five brothers and sisters, Beatrice McCarthy, Rachel Waltz, Lawrence Gageant, George Gageant and Richard Gageant.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Services for Mrs. Renton will be private. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown.
