Norman M. Gaudreau, 85
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Norman Marc Gaudreau, 85, of 74 Lincoln St. died Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at his home.Born in North Adams on Aug. 6, 1929, a son of Osias and Albia Babeu Gaudreau, he attended the former Notre Dame School and graduated from Drury High School in 1947.
He was a veteran of the Army National Guard, serving for 22 years.
Mr. Gaudreau had been employed as a foreman at the former Arnold Print Works in Adams for 30 years. He was last employed at the former Kmart department store.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, as well as a member of the Retired Men's Club and the Retired Men's Bowling League. He enjoyed fly fishing and was a longtime member of the Stamford (Vt.) Valley Golf Course, where he shot a 48 for 9 holes last summer in his final round of golf.
His wife, the former Mary C. Cardinal, whom he married in the former St. Francis' Church in 1951, died Sept. 25, 2010.
He leaves three sons, Marc Gaudreau of Weymouth, Paul Gaudreau of North Adams and his companion, Kathy Reynolds of Adams, and Peter Gaudreau and his wife, Lisa, of Ludlow; four daughters, Debra Matney and her husband, Michael, of Hingham, Lynn Hartlage of North Adams, Mary Messer and her husband, Jeff, of Slippery Rock, Pa., and Anne Gaudreau of Glens Falls, N.Y.; a sister, Lorraine Hurlbut of New Hampshire, 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son and former daughter-in-lawJohn Gaudreau and Martha Finney Gaudreau, both in 2002, and his sister Florence Francomme.
FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Gaudreau will be celebrated on Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Private burial with military honors will take place in the spring.
Calling hours will be Friday, March 6, from 4 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations can be made to St. Elizabeth's Church through the funeral home.
