Robert W. Borowski, 84

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Robert W. "Bob" Borowski, 84, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of North Adams, died Friday, April 3, 2015.

Born in North Adams on July 23, 1930, he was the son of Adolph and Helen Gregalis Borowski.

A Marine Corps veteran, he served as a telephone lineman during the Korean War.

Mr. Borowski was a longtime member of the plumbers' union. He worked as a plumber and steam fitter, eventually starting his own business. He moved to the state of Florida in 1985 and started a business in Port Charlotte.

He was an active member and major contributor to St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Port Charlotte and was a member of Frank R. Stiles American Legion Post 125 in North Adams.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Bruna.

He also leaves a son, Stephen Borowski and his wife, Cristine; three daughters, Debra Pietro Camardella of Norwich, Conn., Amy Schwartzberg and her husband, Steven, of Pahoa, Hawaii, and Lynn Whitmore and her husband, James, of Atlanta; his eight grandchildren, Destiny Borowski stischok and her husband, John, and Adam Cox, all of Port Charlotte, Elena French and her husband, Joel, of Ledyard, Conn., Cristiana Chamberlain and her husband, Ben, of Pittsburg, Calif., Gian Camardella and his wife, Kaitlin, of Gales Ferry, Conn., and Carissa Camardella of Norwich, Conn., and Zakary and Max Whitmore of Atlanta; three great-grandchildren, and 11 nieces and nephews, including his special nephew, Mark Pezzottini of Lee, and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Borowski and Jeff Barrows.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mr. Borowski will be held at Friday, April 10, at 11 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, with a reception to follow.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to St. Maximilian Kolbe Church or Tidewell Hospice. Arrangements by the National Cremation Society.
