Jacqueline M. Ralys, 66
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Jacqueline Marie Ralys, 66, of Bearsden Road, Athol, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y.She was the sister of Thomas Ralys of North Adams.
Born in Gardner on March 28, 1949, a daughter of Louise Stone Ralys, residing at Williamstown Commons, and the late Stanley Ralys, she attended schools in Orange and graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education.
Ms. Ralys was employed for 25 years as a sales agent for Newcomb Motors in Orange. She alsow worked at Stratton Mountain as an instructor in their children's ski school. She had first taught school in Petersham for a period of time.
She was an avid skier, spending winters at Stratton Mountain, and a novice sailor, spending summers with her companion sailing along the East Coast.
Besides her brother and his wife, Cathy, and her mother, she leaves her devoted companion, Jorge Schneider of Huntington, Long Island; a brother William Ralys of the state of Florida, and seven nieces and nephews, Danielle, Jared, Craig, Benjamin, Jonathan, Mathew and Dr. Alex Ralys.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Ms. Ralys' wish was to be cremated with ashes spread at the top of Stratton Mountain. Her family, friends, and skiing companions will meet at Stratton Mountain on Columbus Day to remember her, celebrate her life and fulfill her final wishes.
