Lorraine J. Seymour, 89


NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Lorraine Joan (Dubreuil) Seymour, 89, of North Adams died on Monday, October 17, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center's North Campus. 



Lorraine was born in North Adams on September 6, 1927, a daughter of the late Leo and Marie (Lozo) Dubreuil. She attended schools in North Adams and worked at the England Brothers Store, Robert’s Co., and the Wigwam Summit Shop. 



She was a communicant of the Holy Family Church. Lorraine was an avid reader and was passionate about gardening, especially flowers. She also loved playing the organ. She was very interested in local, state and national politics. Most importantly she was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She loved her family, especially her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. 



Lorraine married Raymond Samuel Seymour on August 3, 1945; he died on July 26, 2006. 



She leaves her daughter, Donna M. Seymour of South Burlington, Vt.; three sons, Dennis Seymour and his wife Gabriella of Stafford, Conn., Craig Seymour and his wife Marianne of Hendersonville, N.C., and Douglas Seymour of Tucson, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Tara Miner and her husband Nathan of Medford, Mass.; two great-grandchildren, Dakota Miner and Lilianna Miner; and a sister, Shirley Whitney of North Adams. 



She was predeceased by five brothers, Leo, Wilfred, John, Raymond and Francis Dubreuil; and a sister, Pearl Erdeski. 



Funeral notice: A service to celebrate the life of Lorraine Seymour will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Calling hours will be on Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. 



Burial will be at a later date in Southview Cemetery. Donations may be made through the funeral home to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Went to lunch with Lorraine while I lived up North with cousins, she enjoyed getting together and had a good time, still went with the other cousins once I moved. She was so full of information about the family. A wonderful, happy lovely woman. She will be missed. Rest in peace my cousin.
