Doris M. Perrault, 87


CHESHIRE, Mass. — Mrs. Doris Marguerite (Murray) Perrault, 87, of Cheshire died early Wednesday morning, November 15, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.



She was born in Dalton, Mass., on December 20, 1929, daughter of the late John W. and Alice R. (Russett) Murray. She attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School. She had also lived in Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina before returning to this area. 



Mrs. Perrault last worked as a programmer for Warner & Swasey Corp. in Cleveland until retiring. Earlier, she had worked as an operator for the former New England Telephone Co. in North Adams.



She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. She served on the Board of Directors for the Cheshire Public Library and was a member of the Cheshire Ladies Reading Club. While living in Pennsylvania, she served as a Cub Scout Den Mother; and while in North Carolina, she was a member of the Gaston Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.



She was an accomplished artist, working with oils, and had her art shown in several local exhibitions. She enjoyed gardening, and in her younger years enjoyed basketball, skating and swimming.



She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Raymond O. Perrault, whom she married on September 20, 1955; several nieces and nephews, including Judy Marko, Joyce Kwasniowski, Richard Perreault, Bernard “Butch” Powers, Jean Levesque, John Clossey and Donna Loveman, all of Adams, and Daniel Perreault of North Adams; a close friend, Joyce O’Brien of North Adams; as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews. 



She was predeceased by her brothers, Norman, John and Alan Murray.



Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at 8:45 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, celebrated by Rev. Matthew Guidi, Pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.



Calling hours are Sunday afternoon, Nov. 19, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 159 Church St. Cheshire, MA 01225.
