M. Irene Fillio
M. Irene Fillio, 88, formerly of Pittsfield and St. Petersburg, Fla., died Aug. 20 at Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, N.H.Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 23, 1916, daughter of Abel and Mary McMahon Roy, she was a 1934 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Fillio was employed by the former Berkshire Woolen Mill and by the former Shipton Realty.
She and her husband, Newman A. Fillio, were married Nov. 16, 1935. He died Sept. 20, 1990.
She leaves two sons, John L. Fillio of Sanford, N.C., and Gary E. Fillio of Dale City, Va.; a sister, Betty Zolkowski of Naples, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Another son, David N. Fillio of Wilmington, died in 1978.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mrs. M. Irene Roy Fillio will be laid to rest in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, Mass., with her husband and son. Burial will be private; there will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass for the family will be held at a later date.

Survivors include daughters-in-law Louise, Beverly and Iris Fillio; grandsons Paul, Thomas and Christopher Fillio; granddaughters Carol, Ellen, Nancy and Constance Fillio, and Amanda Mix; great-grandsons David G. and Alexander Fillio; great-granddaughters Ashleigh and Haley Mix, Jessica Fillio and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Allison Fillio, and by four brothers, Francis, Robert, Edward and Eugene Roy and three sisters, Evelyn Lavelle and Helen and Jean Roy.
