ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Stanley Bednarz, 73, of Adams died on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center in North Adams. 

He was born in Adams on May 27, 1944, a son of the late Stanley and Blanche (Lipinski) Bednarz. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School in 1962. Mr. Bednarz was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the United States Navy until receiving his Honorable Discharge as Ensign 3rd Class on July 25, 1966. 

Mr. Bednarz worked for General Electric Co., Pittsfield, as a machinist for both the Naval Ordnance and Power Transformer Divisions until his retirement. 

He is survived by his wife, the former Linda L. Juras, whom he married on September 18, 1964; a daughter, Dawn Gigliotti of Carrollton, Va.; three sons, Mark Bednarz of Adams, David Bednarz of Pittsfield and Daniel Bednarz of Adams; one sister, Virginia Ravizza and her husband Dino of Princess Anne, Md.; one brother, Thomas Bednarz and his wife Geraldine of Cheshire; three grandchildren, Nicole Gigliotti, Emma Gigliotti and Ryan Bednarz; one great-granddaughter, Sadie Lavigne; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Tiffany Bednarz. 

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018, at 1 p.m. in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
