Robert C. Boldyga Sr.

Robert C. Boldyga Sr., 64, of 1416 Gabriel Dr., Norfolk, Va., died Monday at home after a brief illness.
Born in Great Barrington on May 14, 1942, son of Stephen F. and Rita Collins Boldyga, he attended local schools and was a 1960 graduate of the former Searles High School.
While in Pittsfield, he attended Berkshire Community College and took General Electric Co. courses. He also attended tech schools while in the U.S. Navy, and Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach, Va.
He was a Navy veteran, serving during the Cuban Missile crisis and the Bay of Pigs. He retired as a chief petty officer.
He was employed by Lockheed Martin as a technical support consultant.
He was a former member of the James S. Modolo VFW Post 8348 in Great Barrington, the Knights of Pythias Charity Lodge 10 in Norfolk and the Beachcombers Corvette Club of Virginia Beach, Va.
His wife, the former Audrey Remington, whom he married on Feb. 21, 1962, died Sept. 25, 1994.
He leaves two sons, Robert Boldyga Jr. of Cape Coral, Fla., and Mark E. Boldyga of Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Dawn McFall of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, John Boldyga of Pittsfield; a sister, Margaret Murawski of Claremore, Okla.; four granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Robert C. Boldyga Sr., who died Monday, July 24, 2006, will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church, Housatonic, with the Rev. Anthony Jutt, pastor, officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Housatonic. Family will receive friends on Friday, July 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. Expressions of sympathy in Robert's memory may be made to Hospice Care in Norfolk, Va., in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, 01230.
He also leaves a son-in-law, Ronald; a sister-in-law, Donna; a brother-in-law, John; four granddaughters, Elizabeth, Lisa, Ashley and Shelby, and three great grandchildren, Zion, Brooklyn and Abigal.
