Lawrence Edward Lemanski, 82, of 13 Bieniek Ave. died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Adams on June 2, 1925, son of Walter and Alice Zaik Lemanski, he was a graduate of the former Adams High School. A Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Lemanski was employed by General Electric Co. as a control clerk in the ordnance department for 38 years. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and a member of Skyline Country Club in Lanesborough. He enjoyed golf and softball, doing crossword puzzles and building puzzles. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He and his wife, the former Carmen R. Macchia, would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary Oct. 21. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Michael Lemanski of Cheshire and William Lemanski of Adams; two daughters, Christine Tietgens of Cheshire and Susan Barthe of Adams; a brother, Edward Lemanski of Adams; and six grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Lawrence "Larry" Lemanski, who died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, will be Monday, Oct. 1, at 9 a.m. at PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus' Church, Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to be distributed to local youth sports groups. He leaves a daughter-in-law, Lynne, and his son William's friend, Tanya Swett; a son-in-law, Peter Tietgens, and his daughter Susan's friend, David Smachetti; six grandchildren, Kyle and Alyssa Bromley, Jamie Barthe, Cody Tietgens, and Michael and Katie Lemanski; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Edmund Lemanski, and by five sisters, Blanche Garofano, Sophie Byrd, Stephanie Lemanski, Irene Leitch and Nora Bacon. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and following the Hoosac Valley High School football team.
