ADAMS, Mass. — Richard Paul Lesure, 77, of 47 Mill St. died Sunday, July 15, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in North Adams on June 20, 1935, the son of William E. Lesure Sr. and Alice Kegresse Lesure, he attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School in 1954. An Army veteran, he served in Korea from 1954 to 1956, and in Germany for 18 months. Mr. Lesure was employed by the former General Electric in Pittsfield, first in the Power Transformer Division and retiring in 1991 from Naval Ordnance. He was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners clubs. He also was a member of IUE Local 255, serving on its Executive Board for 12 years and as treasurer for four. He was a life member of the Adams VFW Post 1995, was active in youth groups and Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and sportsman. He was a member of the Greylock Community Club in North Adams and had loved traveling for the past 20 years. He and his wife, the former Anita Aubin, were he married Nov. 3, 1956. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Kathleen Anne Lauth of the town of Florida; a son, Paul Lesure and his wife, Diane, of North Adams; four grandchildren, Thomas Lesure, Joseph Lesure, Daniel Lauth, Bryan Lauth; a great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Rose Lauth, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his son John Jay Lesure on May 29, 1977, and by three brothers, John Lesure, Russell Lesure and William E. Lesure Jr. FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Lesure will be held on Thursday, July 19, at 10 at Pope John Paul the Great Church of Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
