Edward F. Smith Jr., 56

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Edward "Ned" Faulkner Smith Jr., 56, of Williamstown, Mass., died Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.



He was born in Bennington, Vt., on August 10, 1961 , a son of Eugenia (Williamson) Smith and the late  Edward F. Smith Sr. Ned attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from Mt. Greylock Regional High School with the class of 1980. 



He was a restaurateur his whole life and was involved with several restaurants in the area.  



Survivors include his mother, Eugenia Smith of Williamstown, Mass.; one sister, Helen Smith of State College, Penn.; two brothers, Harvey Smith of Cambridge, Mass., and Alexander "Sandy" Smith of North Adams; two nieces, Sarah and Marta; Aunt Peggy Goode; and many cousins. 



He was predeceased by a sister, Eugenia "Ginger" Ficke, who died in 1995.



Funeral notice: A Funeral Service to celebrate Ned Smith’s life will take place Thursday, December 7, 2017, at 1 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown, Mass. Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals.
