Thomas E. McDonough, 67
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Thomas Edward McDonough, 67, of North Adams died Friday, October 14, 2016, at his home.
He was born June 21, 1949 in North Adams, a son of the late Edward Patrick and Margaret Josephine (Lovett) McDonough. He attended schools in Williamstown, Mass., graduating from Mt. Greylock High School in 1967. He graduated BCC in 1970 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English and Communications from North Adams State College where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He began his career in sales and marketing for Berkshire Broadcast Systems. He then worked for Berkshire Training and Employment for 10 years and then with the State of MA Division of Career Services until his retirement in 2015. He was last employed in security at Mass MoCA.
Thomas was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. He enjoyed golf and bowling and playing guitar.
He was the widower of Patricia A. (LeBeau) McDonough who he married on June 29, 1991. She died August 17, 2015.
Survivors include two sisters, Patricia Morin and Marcia Wright of North Adams; four step-children, Michele Marquis and her husband James Sadlowski of Adams, Kirk Langer and his wife Lyn of Adams, Pamela Winn and her husband David of Bennington, Vt., and Colleen Brassard and her husband Jeffrey of Adams; eight step-grandchildren, Shayne, Brian and his wife Debbie, David, Christopher, Scott, Patrick, Corbin and Nathan; and a great-grandchild, Jakub; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Thomas Edward McDonough will be celebrated Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to PopCares or the Dachsund Rescue in care of the funeral home.
