Virginia H. Boivin, 90
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Virginia Henrietta Boivin, 90, formerly of Applewood Lane and Melbourne Place, died at Springside of Pittsfield on Monday, January 16, 2017.
Born in Pittsfield the daughter of Frank and Lena Sawick Kozack, she was a high school graduate.
Mrs. Boivin had worked as a secretary for Colt Insurance and Hillcrest Hospital and was later the first receptionist at Melbourne Place. She had volunteered her time at Conte School and at Hillcrest Hospital. She enjoyed bowling.
Her former husband, Joseph R. Boivin, died in 2012. Her longtime companion, Joseph Molitar, died in 1998.
Mrs. Boivin is survived by two daughters, Virginia B. Peniuk of Lanesborough and Joan B. Hunter and her husband James of Williamstown; a son, Joseph D. Boivin and his wife Gladys of Manchester, Conn.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeeased by two brothers, John Kozack and William Kozack; three sisters, Ann Kozack, Doris Kozack and Mary Cahill; and her son-in-law, Sylvester Peniuk.
Funeral notice: Funeral services for Virginia H. Boivin will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m., at St. Joseph Church celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
