Floyd R. Wilson, 90
ADAMS, Mass. — Floyd Russell Wilson, 90, of Adams died Monday, January 30, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center.
He was born in Adams on October 23, 1926, son of William J. and Martha (Bostwick) Wilson. He attended local schools.
Floyd was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Navy. He was last employed by Brightwater Paper Co. in Adams for 42 years until his retirement in 1993. He also worked painting and paper-hanging for many years.
Floyd was a member and former Pastor of Jesus Saves Tabernacle in North Adams. He enjoyed woodworking.
His wife was Lois (Tenney) Wilson, who died on December 12, 2009. They were married on June 2, 1950.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois Gronblom of Dover, N.H.; Lyn Wilson of Adams and Robin Mulvaney of Schenectady, N.Y.; three sons, Robert Wilson of Sandpoint, Idaho, James Wilson of Eden, Vt., and Lawrence Wilson of Brighton, Mass.; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Hewitt of North Adams, June Wilder of Virginia and Martha Witherell of Maine; and nieces and nephews.
His son, William Wilson, died January 21, 1991; and 10 brothers and sisters are deceased.
Funeral notice: The funeral for Floyd Wilson will be Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Living Hope Community Church, 25 River St., North Adams. Burial will be in the spring in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. A calling hour will be held at the church on Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.
