Albert C. DeMarsico, 73

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Albert C. DeMarsico, 73, of Mark Lane, North Adams, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017, after a long illness. 

He was born in North Adams on August 21, 1943, a son of Frank and Florence (Dudley) DeMarsico. He attended elementary schools in North Adams as well as Drury High School.

He worked in aluminum all his life and retired in 2008 from Modern Aluminum Anodizing. An avid golfer and bowler, Albert was a member of Waubeeka Golf Club, and bowled for many years at Mount Greylock Bowl in the Monday Night League, Tuesday Night Independent League and the Friday Night Classic League. He was competitive in nature and was proud of his accomplishment of several 300 games. He was an avid Red Sox and Jets fan. 

Albert loved to travel, and did many trips with his wife and best friends Richard (Duke) and Bettylou Duhamel. 

Besides his wife, the former Madeleine M. Rose, he leaves his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Paula DeMarsico of Clarksburg; his son-in-law Timothy Keating of Florida, Mass.; two grandchildren, Nickolas C. Keating of Florida, Mass., and Khristyna A. Keating of North Adams; and a great-granddaughter, Laylah N. Keating of Tarrytown, Ga.

His daughter Jill Renee Keating predeceased him on July 22, 2011. He was predeceased by two brothers Francis (Moose) DeMarsico and Vincent L. DeMarsico, both of North Adams, and a sister, Elizabeth Formhals of the state of Florida. He leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Albert DeMarsico will be celebrated on Friday, February 10, 2017, at 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. 

Calling hours will be on Thursday, February 9, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriner's Children’s Hospital or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
