Howard J. Lescarbeau, 69

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Howard John Lescarbeau, 69, of North Adams died on February 10, 2017, at his home.

He was born in North Adams on August 27, 1947, a son of the late Edward Joseph and Emaline Delia (Lord) Lescarbeau. He attended schools in North Adams, and graduated from McCann Technical High School in 1966. He later attended Springfield Tech, and went on to graduate from Westfield State University with a certificate in teaching and accounting. He worked at Hunter Machine Co. for 20 years, and was later employed at McCann Technical High School for many years, where he taught metal fabrication.  

Howard was the past president of the North Adams Lions and a member of North Adams Elks and Eagles. He was also a member of the Deputy Sheriffs' Association for many years. He loved the outdoors, music, and guitars.

Howard leaves his wife Nancy (Shippee) Lescarbeau, whom he married on July 29, 1972. He also leaves his sons Timothy H. and his wife Lisa of North Adams, and Todd M. Lescarbeau and his wife Staci of Greenfield, Mass.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Sweet and her husband Robert, Jessica Morin and her husband Eric, Timothy J. Lescarbeau and his wife Taylor, and Samantha Lescarbeau; six great-grandchildren Ethan, Abigail, Jaydon, Jared, Madilyn and Rowan; four brothers, including his twin Harold, as well as Henry, Leon and Norman Lescarbeau, all of North Adams; and four sisters Erma Foster, Theresa Grieger, and Emaline Goddard of North Adams, as well as Bernadette Aubin of Stamford, Vt.

He was predeceased by seven brothers Donald, David, Edward, Lawrence, Felix, Richard and Louis Lescarbeau.

Funeral notice: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Howard Lescarbeau will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at 6 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to St. Vincent de Paul through the funeral home.

How saddened I am to hear of Howard's passing. My heartfelt sympathy to the Lescarbeau family. I have such fond memories of the wonderful Lescarbeau family. I will always see their smiling faces in my memory whenever I recall my years as their neighbor in Clarksburg.

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Mikey's passing. I know all too well the pain of losing a father, and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I will be out of town on Wednesday, so I will not be able to attend Uncle Mikey's services. Please know I will be with you in spirit on Wednesday, thinking of all the wonderful memories made by and with Uncle Mikey and the Lescarbeau clan.
