Mark Kinney, 59

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Mark A. Kinney, 59, of Pittsfield, formerly of Lee, died Monday evening, February 13, 2017. He passed under the care of hospice, his loving friends and his family.

He was born April 5, 1957, in New London, Conn., the son of Thornton L. and Betty J. Bulger Kinney. Mark was raised in Lee and was a graduate of Lee High School.

Mr. Kinney married the former Dawn Rozon in 1985 and moved to Pittsfield in 1988. He was employed by Advance Machine and Tool in Pittsfield, where he was an extremely talented manual machinist.

Mark enjoyed both off- and on-road motorcycling. He loved hiking with friends all over the Berkshires. Mark especially enjoyed time spent with his close circle of lifelong friends; whether it was camping, playing pool, or just relaxing with a beer. Mark was a lover of animals and particularly enjoyed time with his cat Dingo.

Mr. Kinney leaves behind his wife, Dawn, of Pittsfield; his brother, Daniel L. Kinney and his wife Kathy of Lee; their children Matthew and Shaun; his brother-in-law, Dale Rozon and his wife Debbie of Becket; his sister-in-law, Diane Comalli and her husband Bob of Bennington, Vt.; their children Joshua and Nicole; and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He also leaves many close friends who were very important to Mark.

Funeral notice: In keeping with Mr. Kinney’s wishes there will not be any calling hours or funeral service but rather a Celebration of Life reception at Greenock Country Club on Sunday, February 19, 2017, from 1 to 5 p.m. All friends and family are invited to join. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations in Mark’s name to the Thorton Kinney Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
