Doris M. Satko, 92

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Doris M. (Saunders) Satko, 92, of Williamstown Commons, formerly of Adams, died Sunday morning, February 26, 2017.

She was born in Pownal, Vt., on April 21, 1924, a daughter of the late Leonard and Aurelia (Walker) Saunders. She attended schools in North Adams.

Mrs. Satko worked at the former Candyland and the Apothecary Hall in North Adams and the former Stonemarketing Corp. in Adams, until retiring. Doris was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Adams.

Doris was predeceased by her husband, Alfred L. "Bonnie" Satko, who died on July 5, 2003. They were married on June 7, 1947.

She is survived by a son, Thomas A. Satko and his companion, Nancy J. Roy; two grandchildren, Christina Satko and her companion, Jason Hoellerich, and Jonathan Satko and his wife, Ashley, all of Adams; a sister-in-law, Mary Satko of Westford, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Bonnie Annmarie Satko, died in 1951. She was predeceased by three brothers, Eugene, Arthur and Leonard Saunders; and by four sisters, Evelyn Trottier, Dorothy Armstrong, Olive Aubin and Eleanor "Tippy" Chouinard.
