Robert T. Kelly, 64

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Robert Thomas Kelly, 64, also affectionately known as "Bobby Tom," passed away on February 28, 2017, at Palm Bay Community Hospital in Palm Bay, Fla.

Born in Pittsfield on September 28, 1952, the son of the late Joseph F. and Dorothy M. King Kelly, he was educated in local schools and was a 1970 graduate of Taconic High School.

Robert enjoyed 40 years of service at General Electric and upon retirement in 2013 relocated to Melbourne, Fla. He also enjoyed traveling, taking rides in his Pontiac Trans Am, car shows and the New England Patriots. Robert was also fascinated with extraterrestrial life and aliens. He even traveled to Roswell, N.M., to visit the site of the UFO incident.

He is survived by his longtime companion and the love of his life, Kathleen A. Williams of Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, Ron Kelly of San Lorenzo, Calif.; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Mark Groves, Bruce Groves, Susan Lee and Lisa McAdams all of Texas, Donna Beeler, Terri Swift, Nancy Hover and Lynn Wilkinson, all of Greenville, S.C., and Kimberly Kelly-Tovar of California.

He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph F. Kelly Jr., and his sisters, Barbara Hover and Joan Groves.

Funeral notice: Funeral Services for Robert Thomas Kelly, 64, of Melbourne, Fla., who passed away on February 28, 2017, will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 8:15 a.m. from the Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday evening, March 10, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Melbourne Dialysis, 14 Suntree Place, Suite 14, Melbourne FL 32940, or in care of the funeral home.
