Frank D. Kozik Jr., 70
ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Frank D. Kozik Jr., 70, of 1 Berkshire Square, Adams, died Tuesday afternoon, March 14, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
He was born in Adams on August 18, 1946, a son of the late Frank and Alice (Dubois) Kozik. He attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School with the Class of 1965.
Frank was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the US Navy from 1965 until his Honorable Discharge in 1974.
A welder by trade, he last worked for the former D. Krutiak Construction Co. in Adams. Earlier, he had worked for Lipton Industries and General Electric in Pittsfield, R.I. Baker in Clarksburg and the former Parker Machine Co. in North Adams.
He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams, and was a member of Richard A. Ruether Post 152 American Legion in Williamstown. He enjoyed trips to the casinos, and especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren.
His wife, the former Theresa M.K. Goodrow, whom he married on July 13, 1968, died on December 14, 2006.
He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Melito and her husband Stephen of Adams; a son, Michael Kozik and his wife Kelly of North Adams; his four grandchildren, Aidan and Kaelyn Kozik of North Adams and Brian Adelt and Matthew Melito, both of Adams; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 9 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams.
Burial with military honors will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Friday, March 17, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 776, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
