Joanne P. Trimarchi, 75

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Joanne P. (Tassone) Trimarchi, 75, formerly of Adams, died Thursday evening, March 16, 2017, at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown. 

She was born in Adams on April 6, 1941, the daughter of the late Angelo and Winifred (Edwards) Tassone. She attended local schools, and graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School in North Adams. She lived in North Adams for many years before moving to Adams several years ago. 

Joanne was a legal secretary for most of her life, and worked for several local law firms and attorneys, last working for the former Manuel and Manuel Law firm in North Adams. She had also worked for the former Comp Care and Hospice of Northern Berkshire for several years. 

She had been a communicant of the former St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Adams, and while living in North Adams, was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, where she had been a Catechism teacher for many years. She enjoyed gardening. 

Her husband, Rocco P. Trimarchi, whom she married on April 14, 1972, died on August 20, 2005. 

She is survived by a son, Tracy C. Pierce, of Adams; two stepsons, Rocco Trimarchi II and Phillip Trimarchi, both of the State of Florida; three stepdaughters, Mary Fischer of Wisconsin, Susan Simon of Pennsylvania and Sheryl Chaput of Cheshire, Mass.; five brothers, Wayne Tassone of Adams, Dennis Tassone of Adams, Brian Tassone of Feeding Hills, Mass., Shaun Tassone of Adams, and Samuel McClendon of North Adams; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. 

She was predeceased by a son, Todd Pierce, on December 3, 1979. 

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at 9 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Robert Miskell. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. 

Calling hours are Monday, March 20, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St. New York, New York 10016; or to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd. Waltham, MA 02452.

so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. She and Rocco and I were friends. I met up with her a few years ago on the North Adams summer celebration. I recognized her immediately and was pleased to run in to her then.

Dear Wayne & Dennis, So sorry for your loss. Joanne was my earliest playmate on Bracewell Ave. She was a topnotch legal secretary, knew her stuff & could have been a lawyer. I also knew her to be a good Demcrat. She will be missed.
