Theresa H. LaPine, 83

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Theresa Helen (Chenail) LaPine, 83, of 566 State Road, North Adams, died Friday, March 17, 2017, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in North Adams, Mass., on August 10, 1933, she was the oldest daughter of William Chenail and Helen Emma Rachel (Rancourt) Chenail. She attended Notre Dame Catholic Elementary and High School.

She worked at Lamb Printing Co and Thrifty Bundle Laundromat from which she retired in October 2015 after 33 years of service.

Theresa was a remarkable person. Her family was always her number one priority. Her door was always open and she was happiest spending time with family and friends. She loved to knit and crochet; she shared many afghans, baby outfits and over a hundred Christmas stockings with her family, friends and people in her community.

She was a devoted Catholic and was an active member at Notre Dame, Our Lady of Mercy and St. Elizabeth of Hungary Churches. Theresa was also known for her passion of dancing, you could catch her on the dance floor at any event she attended. She also enjoyed being outside in her yard or on her front porch. An avid animal lover she loved her pets Petu and Bugsy and feeding the wild birds.

She leaves her husband of 63 years, Karl E LaPine, whom she married on August 15, 1953; four children, Bill LaPine and his wife Cheryl of Virginia Beach, Va., Karl A. LaPine and his partner Chris Haring of Adams, Mass., Mark LaPine and his wife Deb of Clarksburg, Mass., and Terry Tatro and her husband Ernie of North Adams, Mass.; 11 grandchildren, Bill, Angela, Carla, Samuel, Austin, Jennifer, Scott, Christopher, Michelle, Josh and Gina; seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Connor, Katherine, Logan, Amanda, Joey and Megan; a sister, Doris Haley of North Adams, Mass.; and a long list of close family members and friends.

Theresa was a generous, loving, caring woman, beloved to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the wonderful care Theresa received from Lannie, Annie, Rebecca and all the other caregivers from HospiceCare in the Berkshires.
