Lorraine B. Maloney, 83

ADAMS, Mass. — Lorraine B. (Delisle) Maloney, 83, of 72 East Hoosac St., Adams, died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center. 

She was born in North Adams, Mass., where she resided throughout her lifetime, on May 14, 1933, daughter of Aimee H. and Marie-Rose (Bombardier) Delisle. She graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1951.

Mrs. Maloney worked at Sprague Electric Co. for many years. She retired from North Adams State College (now MCLA) in 1995 having worked in various offices during her 25 years of service, most recently Administrative Assistant to the President and Director of Community Service/ Volunteerism. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams.

Mrs. Maloney enjoyed her family, knitting, reading and working on her computer. She was the official family genealogist keeping family records and transposing them into books.

Her husband, Daniel J. Maloney, whom she married on November 14, 1953, died on March 13, 2000.

She leaves four children, Daniel J. Maloney Jr. and his wife Marie of Adams, Deborah Sala and her husband Gene, with whom she made her home in Adams, Susan Beauchamp and her husband David, and Glenn Maloney and his wife Nicole of North Adams; her sister, Eileen Meczywor and her husband David of Adams; a brother, Armand and his wife Linda of Hinsdale; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Georgette Mancuso and Diane Maloney; cousins, nieces, and nephews.  

Her brother Roger predeceased her in 1991.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Lorraine Maloney will be celebrated Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery.  

Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, are Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emerson and Lucas Maloney Education Fund in care of the funeral home.

Your mom was perhaps the most wonderful and helpful person on the NASC campus during my time there. I missed her after graduation and now pray for her at her passing.
