Lynn Ann Burke, 66

ADAMS, Mass. — Lynn Ann Burke, 66, of Adams died on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

She was born in Adams on May 28, 1950, daughter of the late Edward and Claire (Kelly) Burke. Her parents died at a young age and she was raised by her grandparents. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School with the class of 1968. She went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from the Charles H. McCann Nursing Program, her Registered Nurse Degree from Berkshire Community College and then graduated from UMASS Amherst with her Bachelor's in Registered Nursing as Registered Nurse Certified in Obstetrics.

Lynn worked for many years for the former North Adams Regional Hospital Maternity Unit, where she had assisted in several multi-generational deliveries and took care of many babies throughout the years.

She was an active member of the Massachusetts Nurses Association as well as a very proud Democrat. She enjoyed Saturday morning tag sales, playing cards and games, and her annual trip to Saratoga to play the horses with her friends. Her favorite interests were reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her children and grandchild.

She is survived by two sons, Carmen L. LaCasse III of Adams and Cory LaCasse and his fiancé Heather Schaefer of Norfolk, Va.; three brothers, Michael Burke and his wife Barbara of Colonie, N.Y., Wayne Burke of Barre, Vt., and Bruce Burke and his wife Eileen of Lanesborough, Mass.; her granddaughter Zoey Lynn LaCasse of Readsboro, Vt.; and many beloved nieces and nephews and her beloved cat Sarah.

She was predeceased by her son, Colin C. LaCasse, who died on July 22, 2014.
