Doris B. McAndrews, 92

ADAMS, Mass. — Doris B. McAndrews, daughter of Julia L. and William A. Steuer, died at her home in Naples, Fla., on April 27, 2017. 

She was born April 10, 1925 in Adams, Mass. Upon graduation from Adams High School, she worked as a secretary for Berkshire Textile, owned and operated by Gilmore Rudnick. When it ceased operations she became office manager of the Old Stone Mill, a nationally recognized corporation noted to be one of the last vestiges of hand-screened printed wallpaper. Doris worked there for multiple years until her retirement. 

She celebrated her 92nd birthday on April 10. Her husband, Michael F. McAndrews, former owner of Smith Bros.-McAndrews Insurance, died in 2005. 

She is survived by one son, Bruce M. McAndrews of Florida and Maine; a sister Nancy Cwalinski and her husband Walter of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her parents and stepfather Frank C. Steuer; and by two brothers, William A. Steuer Jr. and Robert, who died in infancy. 

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. 

A calling hour will be held on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, Florida 34109; or to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave., 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
