Rose A. Pivero, 93
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Rose A. Pivero, 93, of Pittsfield, Mass., died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility.
She was born in Pittsfield on December 20, 1923, a daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Stillatano) Russo. She attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School.
Rose was primarily a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and family gatherings. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
Her husband, Vincenzo J. Pivero, died on January 29, 1994. They were married on February 14, 1942.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosalind B. Arnold and her husband Richard of Pittsfield, with whom Rose recently resided, and Elizabeth A. Lusignan and her husband Edmond of Pittsfield; five grandchildren, Michael, Charles, Vincent Szymanski, and Debbie and Kerry Lusignan; seven great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter, Theresa Terry; and four step-great-grandchildren, Dax, Zax, Elena and Krystle Terry.
Rose was predeceased by her son, James Vincent Pivero, who died on September 5, 2013; four brothers, Guy, Frank, John and Anthony Russo; and four sisters, Frances Giardina, Lucy Savage, Antoinette Pivero and Josephine Aulisio.
Funeral notice: Private services were held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 which is in charge of arrangements.
