Robert R. Rumgay, 66

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Robert R. Rumgay, 66, of Adams died on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass.

He was born in Adams on December 4, 1950, son of the late Andrew C. Rumgay Jr. and Marjorie (Dutcher) Rumgay. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School. He then went on to earn his Associates degree from Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield and then his Bachelors of Arts degree from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams.

Mr. Rumgay was a Professor of Math for Berkshire Community College and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts until his retirement.

He is survived by three sons, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Nicholas Rumgay; his daughter, Jodi Walsh; three sisters, Nancy Johnson, Carol Gingras and Joanne Wandrei; as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 16, at noon in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home. The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations be made to Pop Cares, P.O. Box 482, Williamstown, MA 01267 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
