Bertha J. Jennings, 99
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Bertha J. (Kendrick) Jennings, 99, of North Adams, Mass., died Tuesday May 17, 2017, at her home.
She was born in North Adams, Mass., on August 18, 1917 a daughter of the late John and Frances Louise (Sokolowska) Kendrick. She attended St. Joseph’s High School.
Bertha went on to work for Sprague Electric where she was employed for 40 years, until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, and was a former member of the Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America.
She was the widow of Lawrence Leo Jennings, whom she married on June 29, 1940. He died on May 29, 1992.
Survivors include her grandson, Scott T. Lincoln and his wife Lisa of Stamford, Vt.; two great-grandchildren, Alexandra M. Lincoln and Branden S. Lincoln; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Shirley M. Lincoln, RN, who died on April 21, 2015; her granddaughter Wendy Anne Lincoln, who died on December 21, 1988 – a victim of the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland; and six brothers and sisters, including John Kendrick, Stanley Kendrick, Victoria Bourassa, Frances Solari, Josephine Roe, and Mary Butrymowicz.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Bertha Jennings will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
