Bruce Dobson, 80

LEE, Mass. — Bruce F. Dobson, 80, died at his home Monday morning, May 22, 2017, surrounded by his family.

Bruce was born on September 21, 1936, in Pittsfield, the son of Morton and Madelyn Fuller Dobson. He was educated in Dalton and Lee Schools.

He worked at the former Hurlbut Paper Company in South Lee, then was Vice President of Sales and Service for the former Clark-Aiken Paper Company in Lee. He went on to own and operate Fuller Machine Company in Lee and for a short time owned Stony Kill Restaurant in Canaan, N.Y. After his retirement in the late 1990s he worked for the Berkshire Eagle delivering newspapers.

Bruce was a former member of the Dart League at the former Bullseye Pub in Lee and he owned race horses and loved horse racing.

He is survived by his wife, the former Ann DiGrigoli, whom he married on February 24, 2001; one daughter, Cheryl Dobson and her partner Ron Finch of Randolph, N.Y.; one brother, David Dobson of Pawcatuck, Conn.; two grandchildren, Kristy Graves and her husband Jeremy and Aaron Finch and his partner Cierra Farmer; two sisters-in-law, Kay Dobson and Mary Lynn DeVarennes; several nieces and nephews; and his cat Buddy.

Bruce is predeceased by his son Scott, who died in 1994; his brother Mort Dobson; another brother, Bob Dobson; and his former wife, Beverly Sparks Dobson.

Funeral notice: Funeral services for Bruce Dobson will be on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lee.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday evening, May 25, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends wishing may make donations in his memory to Hospice Care in the Berkshires or to the Berkshire Hum
