Arthur H. Koehler, 86

ADAMS, Mass. — Arthur H. Koehler, 86, died June 14, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield following a period of failing health during which time he had resided at Williamstown Commons.

Born July 22, 1930, Art was the son of Arthur T. and Irene (Goyette) Koehler. He was a lifelong resident of Adams and a faithful parishioner of St. John Paul II Parish and its predecessor parish St. Thomas Aquinas.

Art worked for the Adams Supermarket for 35 years, where he was supervisor of the company's dairy and frozen food departments before retiring in 1984. In his leisure time he was a loyal and ardent follower of the New York Giants. His steady and quiet demeanor and abiding devotion to his family will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret R. (Lenhardt), with whom he recently celebrated their 66 wedding anniversary on May 30; three children, James Koehler and his wife Karen (Wing) of Adams, Gary Koehler of Adams, and Cynthia Farrell and her husband James of Lee, N.H.; a brother, Thomas Koehler and his wife Doris of Adams; six grandchildren, Michael Koehler, Kimberly Koehler, Nicole Sears, Joseph Koehler, John Farrell, and Patrick Farrell; and a great grandson, Aaron O'Callaghan.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 9 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Notre Dame Church (St. John Paul II Parish) at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Visiting hours for Arthur Koehler are Monday, June 19, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Art's name may be made to the St. John Paul II Charity Center, P.O. Box 231, Adams, MA 01220. Art's family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Williamstown Commons for their kindness and support during the last 19 months.
