Constance L. Weiss, 88
ADAMS, Mass. — Constance L. Langlois Weiss, 88, formerly of Adams, Mass., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 20, 2017.
She was born in 1929, the daughter of Elie and Blanche Langlois of Adams, Massachusetts. Connie enjoyed a long career as a registered nurse working in various settings including the V.A., as a staff nurse at various hospitals, schools, in industry, nursing homes and ending her career in home health care.
Connie married John Anthony Weiss in 1953.
She is survived by their five children, Karen Freeman (Doug) of Cottonwood, Ariz., Garth Weiss of Wells, N.Y., Kim Haile of Santa Cruz, Calif., Kelly Insogna (Tim) of Gloversville, N.Y., and Garrette Weiss (Becky) of Oswego, N.Y.; a sister, Isabelle Girard of Adams, Mass.; nine grandchildren, Shannon, Terra, Megan, Ryan, Dylan, Gina, Abby, Leah and Kara; as well as 12 great-grandchildren, Piper, Georgette, Kiara, Landon, Jayla, Thorin, Fiona, Rya, Xilin, Yves, Roman and Norah.
Preceding Connie are her parents; husband; three sisters, Helen Gravelle, Bernice Wiencek, Beatrice Wood; and grandson Christopher Freeman.
Connie loved life and was always ready for any adventure, facing the world with class and sass. She loved a good book, a good story, a game of cards and any opportunity to sing and dance, or both.
We will always carry with us Connie's example of a life well-lived. She was a reflection of a Proverbs 31 woman, who lived to serve others, always meeting challenges with great courage and a sense of humor. She was a woman of integrity who loved her immediate and extended family unselfishly.
For those of us who knew and loved her the world will be an emptier place without her in it. We offer and take solace in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the broken hearted and those who are crushed in spirit."
Funeral notice: A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at noon, officiated by Father Steve Montesanti of St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 21 Maple St., Adams, Mass. This will be followed by interment at Maple Street Cemetery, also in Adams.
