Heamon Williams, 83
LEE, Mass. — Heamon W. Williams of South Lee died on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at his Meadow Street home, at 83 years of age after a brief illness, cared for by his loving children.
He was born on Dec. 1, 1933, to Heamon S. and Florence (Elsensohn) Williams. He attended school and worked on his family farm in South Lee. His first job was with the Stockbridge Water Works followed by Brandt Lumber Company. At 25 years of age he went to work at Mead Specialty Paper for 50+ years as the Receiver. For the last 35 years he worked as a Property Caretaker, including the South Lee Cemetery, with his longtime friend Noel (Mackie) Stanard. He also served as the churchwarden for the Church of the Good Shepard in So. Lee. In recent years, he could be seen enjoying his grandchildren’s sports and music events.
Heamon is survived by three daughters, Deborah Kie, Connie Holmes and her children Christy (Babbs), Jamie and Michael, and Stacy McDonald and her child Chelsea; one son, Heamon J. Williams and his wife, Tracy, and their children Heamon C. and Kendra; his sister, Betty Capitanio; brothers David Williams and his wife, Judy, and Joseph Williams and his friend Candie Brunell; and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Donna (Cahalan) Williams, whom he married June 1, 1953; she died May 19, 2015. He was also predeceased by four brothers, Walter, Carl, Donald and Robert Williams.
