Kenneth R. Dinofrio, 68
DALTON, Mass. — Kenneth R. Dinofrio, 68, of 28 Mill St., passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Craneville Place of Dalton, where he had resided for the past year.
Born on November 10, 1948, in Pittsfield, he was a son of the late Ralph F. and Marion Gloyd Dinofrio. A longtime Dalton resident, he was educated in Dalton schools and was a 1966 graduate of the former Dalton High School. He also attended Berkshire Community College, where he took business classes. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Intrepid. He was employed for many years as a route salesman for Dreikorn’s Bakery, Entenmann’s, Stella D-Oro, Keebler and Little Debbie and retired from Frito-Lay in 2007. He had also worked at one time at East Street Auto and Bedard Brothers of Cheshire.
He was a member of Church of Christ in Pittsfield and the Benjamin F. Sullivan American Legion Post #155 in Dalton. He enjoyed reading, golfing and going on cruises. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife, Nancy DiSanti Dinofrio of Dalton, whom he married on July 18, 1970; two sons, Michael J. Dinofrio and his fiancé, Billie Jo Littlefield, of Pittsfield and Timothy E. Dinofrio of Pittsfield; a daughter, Jennifer M. Knowlton of Dalton; a brother, Bruce G. Dinofrio and his wife Julie of Palm Coast, Fla.; his two grandchildren, Joseph A. Dinofrio and Bella Sophia Knowlton; his sister-in-law, Tina DiSanti of Adams; nieces and nephews Karen R. Dinofrio, Sonia DiSanti, Nathan DiSanti, Robert DiSanti, Leah DiSanti, Richard Lemieux and Paul Lemieux; and a great nephew, Michael North Jr.
He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, the late Robert DiSanti.
Funeral notice: Funeral services for Kenneth R. Dinofrio, 68, of Dalton, who passed away September 30, 2017, will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. at Church of Christ on Valentine Road in Pittsfield conducted by the Rev. Charles Young and the Rev. Russell Moody. Burial with military honors will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations in memory of Ken may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226, which is handling arrangements.
