Marjorie E. Rynkowski, 85
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marjorie Emma (Harrington) Rynkowski, 85, formerly of St. Joseph's Court, 85 Eagle St., North Adams, died Friday, October 6, 2017, at the Williamstown Commons.
Marjorie was born in Syracuse, New York, on July 27, 1932, a daughter of the late Irving and Helen (Utting) Harrington. She attend Drury High School. Marjorie was a hard working seamstress for several of the textile mills in the area. She was devoted mother and grandmother and was an active and vibrant member of the St. Joseph's Court Tenant Association, serving for several years as the secretary.
Her husband, Frank Daniel Rynkowski, whom she married January 23, 1965, died October 18, 1989.
Survivors include her daughter, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Cariddi and her husband Guy of North Adams; son Lawrence "Rick" Bassett and his wife Rose of North Adams; seven grandchildren, Rebbecca Cohen, Sarah Cohen, Jennifer Cohen, Nathan Rynkowski, Priscilla Bassett, Richard Bassett and James Bassett; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Irving Harrington Jr. of Pittsfield; three sisters, Barbara Harrington and Alma Harrington of North Adams and Charlotte Bellard of New Jersey; one stepsister, Mabel Rogowski; and two stepbrothers, Russell and Edward Pearson.
She was predeceased by a son, Roger Rynkowski, who died May 14, 2003; sister Doris Caswell; stepsister Esther Harrington; and stepbrother Bruce Pearson.
Funeral notice: Funeral services to celebrate the Life of Marjorie Rynkowski will take place Thursday October 12, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the Meals on Wheels Program through Elder Services of the Berkshires.
