Rita F. DeMarsico, 98

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Rita Florence (Lescarbeau) DeMarsico, 98, of North Adams, Mass., died Friday, October 13, 2017, at Williamstown Commons.

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on September 18, 1919, daughter of Alfred and Elodie (Roy) Lescarbeau. She attended local schools. Rita was last employed by the Jarisch Paper Box Co. until her retirement in 1981. Before that, she worked at Wall-Streeter Shoe Co., Cornish Wire Co. and the Hoosac Cotton Mill.  

She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Rita was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and walking and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was the widow of John J. DeMarsico, who died on August 7, 1984. They were married February 26, 1938.

Survivors include one son, John E. DeMarsico and his wife MaryAnn of Adams, Mass.; two grandchildren, Lori Denault of Pittsfield and Master Sergeant John T. DeMarsico USAF Ret. and his wife Jacqueline of North Adams; two great-grandchildren, Kayla DeMarsico and Tiffany DeMarsico; and nieces and nephews.  

Two sisters and three brothers are deceased, including Irene Boulerice, Alice Lescarbeau, George Scarbo, Edward Lescarbeau and Stanley "Pete" Lescarbeau.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Rita DeMarsico will be celebrated Monday, October 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.  Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.  

Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, Mass., are Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.

I fell so bad that I just found out tonight Oct. 15th that my aunt Rita has passed. She was such a nice lady with a big heart. I wish I had know before as I would of attend the service this morning.
