Marcia A. Dagnoli, 82

ADAMS, Mass. — Marcia Ann (Parisien) Dagnoli, 82, of Adams, Mass., died peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center.

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on May 28, 1935, daughter of William Arthur Parisien and Helen Angeline (Gazzaniga) Parisien, where they resided at their farm on the Mohawk Trail and later operated the Rainbow Motel at that location. Marcia attended North Adams schools and graduated from the Drury High School with the class of 1953. She received her nurse's training at the Henry W. Bishop III School of Nursing and became a registered nurse, later completing her bachelor's degree in nursing from the Boston College School of Nursing.

Marcia worked as a registered nurse for several years and then, along with Claire Roy, RN, established the LPN Program at McCann Technical High School, where she taught nursing.  Marcia gave up her nursing career to raise her family and devoted the rest of her life to caring and providing for her husband and three sons. She cooked fabulous meals on her Glenwood stove and family dinners were a cherished event in her household.

She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in North Adams and St. John Paul II Church in Adams, where she sang in the choirs. Marcia loved music and the arts and especially enjoyed playing her piano. She had been a chairwoman of the former Northern Berkshire Council of the Arts and the Garden Club.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Donato Francesco Dagnoli, whom she married on August 15, 1964; three sons, including Donato Battista Dagnoli of North Adams, USAF Major (Ret.) Doric Adam Dagnoli and his wife, Tischel, of Columbia Falls, Mont., and Dean Christopher Dagnoli and his wife, Lisa, of East Longmeadow, Mass.; five grandchildren, including Alexandra Noel Dagnoli, Siena Rose Dagnoli, Ava Marie Dagnoli, Bianca Kathleen Dagnoli and Dean Donato Dagnoli; her sister-in-law, Ann Parisien; brother-in-law, Juris Zauls; an uncle, James Gazzaniga and his wife, Joan; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers, including Joan H. Parisien who died March 29, 2016; Mary Brenda Zauls on June 7, 2013; William Arthur Parisien Jr., DDS, on August 30, 2016; Louis W. Parisien on July 17, 1955; and David Parisien who died in infancy.
Marcia's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the caregivers who assisted her in the past few years.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Marcia Dagnoli will be celebrated Saturday October 21, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 70 Marshall St. North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery.
